!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Unimog 404, 13,000 km (supposedly). He’s asking $9k. It doesn’t run as is, but makes me wonder what it would take to get it running again.

I’d love to make a camper out of one of these. Only a few things scare me though:
1. Price and availability of parts.
2. How much it would cost to get it running again.
3. How much time it would take. As the dad of a 1 year old who works full time, it’s not like I’m made of time.

You probably have no time. Not for 2-3 years when they want to help.

If you’re not made of Time and not made of Money it may be too much.

Now, if you were a writer for a popular Automotive themed Blog? The world may be your Oyster!

The little bacon bit just turned one today. So it’ll be at least another year or two. I totally want to build her a custom Power Wheels before she gets too big. I figure it’d be good practice before I take on something bigger. :P

Too close to a hummer? I suppose he could try to do absolutely everything with it. That could make for some entertaining stories.

:( I suppose they are pretty rare in your neck of the woods? They aren’t all that common up here either.

I thought that too. I have 4 in my basement I haven't messed with. Although I chopped the front grill of one to accommodate a car battery. I will get them out in the spring time.

I thought you were going for a thing where the owner actually performed work on it. DD stories always involve a Tow and the nearest Dealer.

Freightliner sold Unimogs in the 80’s but in the northern US. Mostly as snow plows.

Been wanting a mog all my life. :)

I imagine getting parts could still be difficult. I’ve got a brother who is a partsman, and he said they had a guy come in looking for some Unimog parts. The guy had to wait a while, as they had to be shipped from Europe.
